GET ME TO THE CHURCH IN STYLE

GET ME TO THE CHURCH IN STYLE
Give the happy couple the absolute ultimate in
chauffeur-driven luxury on their wedding day:
a ride in the exclusive Maybach 62
with Royal Silver Service.

The Maybach 62 is, quite simply, the finest luxury limousine in the world, and from mid-June this year one - and only one - will be available for wedding day hire in the UK. exclusively through top executive chauffeur organisation Royal Silver Service.

By its very nature, a wedding day is unique, the once-in a-lifetime source of a lifetime's worth of wonderful memories.  The dress, the flowers, the food, the weather. It's every couple's dream that everything be perfect on their big day; and for those few magical hours, every bride wants to feel that she is the most special woman in the world, a Princess for a day.

What could she desire more, then, than to travel to the Church in the most special car in the world, a car truly fit for a Queen; a car that exemplifies the very highest levels of comfort, beauty, style and - most importantly for a woman wearing an exquisite and precious wedding gown - spaciousness?

That car is the Maybach 62 - there are actually two models, the 57 and the 62, and it is the larger 62 that Royal Silver Service will be operating.  Maybach isn't a marque with which everyone will be familiar, but the minute you lay eyes on this magnificent car you'll know why the Maybach name has become a byword for ultimate motoring luxury and elegance, a name as iconic in its field as those of Fabergé or Chanel in theirs.

Big and beautiful
Aesthetically-speaking, the Maybach is in a class of its own, the elegant, flowing lines of its exquisitely finished exterior giving it a classical yet timeless look.  Every photographer, professional or amateur, will want to be sure and capture the moment when the bride emerges from this beautiful car.

And the interior is just as beautiful:  step into the Maybach and one steps into another world, a world where every conceivable comfort has been attended to.  Surrounded by Grand Nappa leather seats and finest wood panelling, the lucky passengers - the bride and her proud father, perhaps - will find their feet slowly sinking into the deepest of deep-pile carpets, their whisper-quiet environment precisely controlled by the individually-tailored air conditioning systems.

Every luxury they could wish for is at hand - including DVD player, television, state-of-the-art sound system, minibar, refrigerated compartment and cordless telephone with two handsets.  There's even a magnetic bottle holder, plus champagne flute holders designed to keep that pre-reception drink in place - even under maximum cornering force!  Then of course there's the space.  The Maybach 62 is a big car, 1.57m high and 6.17m long in fact, with enough space in the passenger compartment to house a Mini.

Each of the two electronically-controlled rear seats (modelled in part on those in the NASA space shuttle and Air France's first class cabins) will recline almost flat and still leave more than enough legroom for the bride to spread out her glorious wedding dress - and train.

And with doors a full 90cm wide opening to a near right-angle, her dignity will never be compromised stepping into or out of the vehicle.

Nobody can guarantee glorious weather for their wedding day.  But the Maybach gets close. it has a unique panoramic roof with electro-transparent glass - which magically goes clear at the touch of a button, giving its occupants that delicious open top car feeling.

A ride - on time
It's practically de rigeur for the bride to arrive a few minutes "late" for her wedding, but should she experience a serious delay it's nice to know the car she's riding in is driven by the world's most powerful production engine (a 550hp Bi-turbo 5.5 litre V12 for the mechanically-minded).

Travelling in a Maybach is more about comfort and style than raw speed exhilaration; but should it ever prove necessary, the chauffeur can whisk the limousine away from the lights and up to 60 mph in a touch over 5 seconds.

It is a unique experience, in more ways than one.  Such is the exclusivity of the Maybach - only 700 or so in total for the two models will be produced annually for the worldwide market - one would be lucky even to see one, let alone own or ride in one.  And owning a Maybach 62, incidentally, would set a buyer back the little matter of around £300,000 - presuming he or she can get their name onto the waiting list.

The best service money can buy
In truth, hiring the Maybach 62 from Royal Silver Service for their wedding day is probably the only way the luckiest folk will ever get to travel in it.  Maybach vehicles are not "loaned out", not even to the rich and famous, test drives are rarer than hens' teeth - and of course, Royal Silver Service is the UK's sole official Maybach chauffeur hire company.

Take a look at the website - http://www.royalsilverservice.co.uk/- it exudes the class, style and ambition that typify the company, qualities that helped influence DaimlerChrsyler UK (Maybach's "parent company") into granting them exclusive executive chauffeur hire rights to the Maybach 62.

The Maybach 62 is designed to seat four people (two in the front, two in the rear) travelling in ultimate comfort and safety - and with no less than 10 separate adaptive airbags and integral comfort-fit seat belts, this car is very comfortable and very safe.  But what of the car's perceived rivals - after all, aren't some "stretch-limos" bigger overall inside?  Well, in truth there is simply no comparison, with any other car.  (By way of example, the top-of-the-range Bentley Arnage has a price tag around half that of the Maybach 62.)

As Steve Bernard, Chief Executive of Royal Silver Service confirms: "Truly discerning customers will instinctively recognise the gulf in class between the Maybach and something like a stretch limo.  Stretch limos have their market, but when it's absolute comfort, absolute style you want, the Maybach has no equal."

But if, as is very likely, one needs wedding transportation for more people - mothers and fathers of the bride and groom, bridesmaids and groomsmen, other family members and guests  etc. - Royal Silver Service can also cater for them with no trouble at all.  The company operates a nationwide network, exclusively Mercedes vehicles, all E Class or higher specification, of several hundred fully licensed owner-drivers.

As you might expect, the Maybach experience does not come cheap but Steve and his partners, nephews Adam and Mark O'Gilvie, make no apology for that.

"Our customers get what they pay for" says Adam. "They see that we're expensive, and that leads them to expect a high quality, totally confidential, reliable and caring service - which is exactly what they get.  And by hiring the Maybach, of course, they're buying into a very exclusive club."

By hiring the Maybach 62, the happiest and most relaxed of brides and grooms can be absolutely certain that their wedding car will be the very last word in comfort, elegance and sheer, unashamed luxury. Royal Silver Service is now taking advance bookings for the car, from mid-June onwards. The Maybach can be transported anywhere in the U.K. for that very special day.  Call 08701 993910 - or for more information, visit the RSS website at www.royalsilverservice.co.uk

NOTES TO JOURNALISTS AND BROADCASTERS

Silver Dream Machine
Royal Silver Service's silver Maybach 62 is currently being hand-built in Germany.  The company will take delivery during the early part of June 2004, but in the meantime, photography can be arranged with another vehicle, in central London (Wigmore Street).

Impeccable engineering pedigree
21st century Maybachs - there are two models, the 57 and the 62, and it is the larger 62 Royal Silver Service will be operating - are built in Germany under the aegis of DaimlerChrysler, and benefit from all the technical expertise of Mercedes, a brand whose engineering credentials need no introduction.  But the Maybach's pedigree stretches right back to the 19th century, when Wilhelm Maybach, "The King of Designers", first met Gottlieb Daimler, and began a partnership which was to elevate the humble car to the level of art.  Artistry; craftsmanship; innovation - in the Maybach these reach their apogee.
